What does it mean to be born again? To be born again means that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and have made Him the Lord (or boss) of your life. It means that by an act of your will, you have chosen to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to die as the sacrifice for the sins of mankind. It means that you believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and that he is alive today, seated at the right hand of God the Father in Heaven. Here's reality: If you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, and make Him the Lord of your life, you will be able to spend eternity in Heaven. If you do not, then you are doomed to eternal Hell. It is this way because when Adam and Eve sinned against God thousands of years ago, all mankind became subject to sin and death. Adam had committed high treason against God . When mankind fell, God immediately set His plan into motion to redeem and restore. The culmination of His plan was the sending of His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross (this occurred almost 2000 years ago). His death was the sacrifice, or payment, for the sins of all mankind - for all who believe and accept. It is important that you know that to be born again is not just a religious term, but is actually an accurate description of what happens to your spirit. When you accept Christ into your heart your spirit is re-born. Now you have a new nature that is compatible with God . Your relationship with God is restored and you can truly call Him your heavenly Father. Also, you must realize that being born again is a beginning. Your new life with God is not a one-time event. God has a wonderful plan for your life that includes good health, prosperity, and happiness. Don't think of it as just getting a "ticket" to Heaven. Being born again is more like becoming part of a family, or like getting married. It is the beginning of your relationship with God . Bible references:
